Kim Flora is a mixed media painter and collage artist with a focus in both capturing and abstracting nature and architecture.   Informed by landscape and atmosphere, Ms. Flora's work has primarily taken the form of encaustic, an ancient technique that combines molten beeswax, resin and pigment to make paint.  Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, Ms. Flora received a Bachelor's of Fine Art from to the Art Academy of Cincinnati.  Upon graduation, she was awarded a summer studio at the Academy of Fine Arts Munich, Germany.  Ms. Flora has received an Individual Artist Grant from the City of Cincinnati and has held solo exhibitions at PAC Gallery And Manifest Gallery in Cincinnati. She has exhibited nationally at Pagus Gallery, Wright State University and The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, among many others.  Flora's work is published in Manifest Gallery's International Painting Annual 1 and Catherine Nash’s upcoming publication Contemporary Paper and Encaustic: International Trends.  Ms. Flora's work is included in the numerous private and public collections including The Cincinnati Art Museum.
